Yes, yes, yes
most of the mails so far have these four words
1. diaries
2. memories
3. nostalgia
4. tourists

Off line confronted with on line. emotionall connectedness we all
experianced at plovdiv showed to all how "frustrated" we all are, sitting
with our "tech" stuff, how we all needed personal touch, warmth of a body
present, consuming shopska, vine, rakija, speaking words, dancing at the
bar.
So are we all going to get crushed by our realities, like Rupert expresed,
or we're going to be nostalgic, live out of memories, or we're going to keep
the interrelations with the on-line condition and find the necessary
critical fields of action.

One thing is sure. We all feel the need to meet again, to make it soon, and
to continue working/living within reality we created in Plovdiv transmited
to our local realities. Again I remaind us on imporatnce of effort toward
finding a way to communicate in conditions that are in front of us, meaning
on-line, hoping to create a condition to organize new meeting off-line.
Suggestion about diaries, personal emotions, lives are all good, and reading
the mails on the CFlist I can sense the presence of the MexicanHouse spirit.
Saso is right when saying we can keep masks down at home, we can stop
playing traits of our micro realities and elevate to a different level of
FrontalCommunication01 as a interface that goes beyond web site we'll
create. Aleksandar is right, it can be CD-Rom, video, book or other. The
point is not in the Product but in the Process, and that's what we all
became aware of in a blunt and straight forward way in Plovdiv. So keep the
process alive, keep the texts unfinished, unpolished, keep the web opened.
Regarding art tourism and Paulines remarks again I have to say the travell
is important, the awareness of a distance and geography(which includes
demography too) is very important. arrival is always the same, emotional,
but the travell is aways different.(taxi to border or airport, plane, bus,
trane, foot) countrysides we pass and look at, showing or not showing
understanding for the moment. of course we're tourists, we're tourists in
our own lives so why should we be different in our art/ehics. Is it bad? Yes
if we proove to be lousy, heartless tourists, imposing our culture over
others in an attempt to assimilate. But if we proove to be different, as we
did in Plovdiv, at least in moments, we can find a whole new dimension in
tourism. Americans have "peace keeping force" tourism, cultural imperialism
of CocaCola, McDonalds and political corectness. europe has it subtle ways
of dominating in the "art of tourism", and balkans just have sub-variants,
as dimos said all the countries in the region want to impose leading role
over neighbouring countries. I didn't sense any of it in Plovdiv. I didn't
sense any of "art-excuse-travell" but for the moment when Andreas was
talking about Syndicate, the meetings they had here and there and the
importance of the list/organization/institution over individual. The point
is to avoid all these traps of ego-tourism, of instutionalizing the CF so it
can become yet another ArsElectronica and the curators will receive all the
cerdit. the point is having fun and good meal while enjoying the
contradictions and confrontations of our personal experiances. long live
"ceski burek" as Saso did say making it to his sister and wife. I'll drink
to that.
So Dimos is right when saying;
"and two days after, [at past sunday] it was a feeling that the concept of
the new geography, is no more a new land to discover, = we were just leaving
in,
and [of course] is not enough as concept, we are already going towards newer
works, or concepts
so, what i felt when aleksandar wrote about multiculturalism and lukas about
interhuman sounds from the past days,
is exactly that new approaches and new terrritories could critically come
out.
this new art form has too little to do with the art practices of the past."
So my new-friends-found we have a new-land to discover, organize and nourish
so we can become better persons. If that is true than we have a lot of joy
in front of us and I'm looking forward to it.
Love to you all,
igor
