Subject: [CFront] where i you we are?
(my first day)
before lunch,
after meeting
before reading the other mails,
comes this:
members of local and bulgarian art community are not plovdiv
public. it seems we are trying to reach and communicate with
plovdiv public. we need to contact what could be also
described as "real life". but we have a bit of the problem
with the question: what is the content of this communcation.
which seems it is solved during todays meeting. partialy at
least. dimos: we need to find or construct the 'right'
mechanisms to reach, contact and finaly communicate with
"real-life" plovdiv public. after the talk with invited
jurnalist and some youngsters we found out the idea of "the
most beautifull house of plovdiv concourse" would definitely
fail, as locals have too less trust. this knowledge gives us
the idea, we need to know much more about local community in
order to reach them and find means to bring them in contact
with us and our "art".
what comes to my mind, is a form of masquerading or putting a
kind of a bait to to bring public in. from "bait" point of
view things are decided: to organise barbecue, make a radio
and newspaper invitation. the event should happen on saturday.
eva, maria and igor should coordinate that.
but what was interesting to me from a meeting with youngsters
was general social situation on and level of "internet and
technical (cyber?) awareness". how much are people online, for
what do people use internet, what is the age structure of
internet users, how many isps do they have in plovdiv (cca
10!!)... al of these questions and data suddenly made me
imagine cfront group as a masqueraded social institution
offering possibilty of talk about tech-age.
anyway, jane is working on radio 10 minutes broadcast, dimos
on photocopy notebook, eva et al on barbecue, and there's also
some other projects under way (work with children, inteviews
at financial school, and those which i don't remeber now)
[don't take this as a general report].
i should also develop a java chatroom alias java web -> IRC
gateway to have some chat with plovdiv people online, and
later webpage constructiong...
time for lunch.
